Experience
Gurmi began his art education at the age of 12 Years from
his Father,Thupten Lama,
a Buddhist Monk and thanka painter.
and also studied under his fathers teacher, the famous Yogi Master
Au Leshey.
Later he studied modern art privately for two years under
Manuj Babu Mishra,
professor of fine art College of NepalHe has now been painting for 19 years
and specializes in thankas,cultural paintings and book illustrationFor over nine years, he has been giving private courses
in his studio to both Nepalese and foreign students.
He also worked for Colorado based Naropa Institute
Abroad Study in nepal as a thanka-painting
teacher for five years.He painted on a "work for hire" basis for Rotoity Reality project from
